Five years ago, the first ever Winter Youth Olympic Games took place in Innsbruck, Seefeld and Kühtai. On 13 January 2012, more than 1,000 athletes gathered in the city of Innsbruck (Tyrol) Austria, to compete against some of the best young sportsmen and women from around the world and experienced unforgettable moments together with 1,357 volunteers and the Tyrolean population.
For the fifth anniversary we think back to the unique spirit of the first Winter Youth Olympic Games. The YOG were not only the foundation for starting the volunteer team tirol but also the birthday of the innsbruck-tirol sports GmbH.
